Abstract
Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) has emerged as an innovative approach in second and foreign language education, combining subject matter instruction with language learning to enhance both content knowledge and language proficiency. This review explores the principles and practices of CLIL, highlighting its benefits in promoting meaningful language use and learner engagement. It discusses effective implementation strategies, such as teacher collaboration and scaffolding, and examines the challenges related to teacher preparation, curriculum alignment, and learner diversity. The review also proposes future directions for CLIL, including the use of technology, teacher training programs, and research on long-term outcomes.
